Philippine Airlines
is to operate an additional direct flight between Manila and Los Angeles from June 6 to 27, 2003, bringing total frequencies
on this trans-Pacific route to 10 weekly.
The
airline said the extra flight is being laid on to accommodate heavy seasonal demand
as the U.S. summer travel period gets underway.
The new frequency will operate every Friday using widebody Airbus
A340-300 aircraft. Flight PR 112 departs Manila at 8:30 p.m. and arrives
in Los Angeles at 6:50 p.m. the same day.
The return service, PR 113, departs Los Angeles at 9:00 p.m. and touches
down in Manila at 5:10 a.m. (two calendar days later) after a brief technical
stop in Honolulu.
PAL already operates a daily service on the route utilizing Boeing 747-400
aircraft, as well as extra Wednesday and Sunday flights with the A340-300.
Last month, PAL added a fourth weekly frequency to its service between
Manila and Vancouver, Canada, also on account of heavy demand. |
