Novotel Ambassador Gangnam opens new Japanese Restaurant

Travel News Asia 26 November 2003

Novotel Ambassador Gangnam’s recently opened its trendy new Japanese restaurant Shune, catering to the growing demand for Japanese cuisine in the capital.

Shune is inspired in all aspects — from the creative menu, elegant interior design and funky music — it moves beyond the normal dining experience. With this bold new concept Shune has already captured the imagination of both consumers and media alike.

Shune, which means ‘the right time’ in Japanese, boasts its unique concept combining a bistro, Japanese private rooms and a modern sake bar. The various dishes highlight both globalize fusion recipes as well as authentic Japanese fare specifically tailored to local taste. Extensive efforts to highlight the beauty of all dishes has been made at Shune, using only the finest and freshest ingredients from around the country, to give the food its unique taste.

Novotel Ambassador Gangnam, General Manager, Laurent Chaudet, said: “We are ambitious to position it as the trendiest restaurant in Seoul. People have already begun to compare Shune with the global Japanese restaurant Nobu in New York.

“Many Koreans are interested in nice restaurants and the food and beverage industry has been growing rapidly, we believe that Shune will be very popular with its characteristic menu and service. We are sure that the restaurant will be a favorite meeting place for Koreans and visitors to enjoy great food in stylish surroundings”, he added.

On weekends, Shune will offer an outstanding seafood buffet to attract families and couples priced at 40,000 won (US$34) for lunch and 45,000 won for dinner with children under 12 dining for 50 per cent off.

The restaurant has more than 250 seats and a large cellar, which features extensive wine and sake selections.
