Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced a number of transfers and promotions for general managers at its Middle East hotels.
ASHRAF KHALIL has been promoted to general manager of InterContinental
Garden Reef Resort Sharm El Sheikh, and also takes on the role as the regional
general manager of the Crowne Plaza Resort and two Holiday Inn resort hotels in Sharm El Sheikh. Ashraf rejoined the company in 2000 as
general manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Sharm El Sheikh.
ROBERT ZOGHBI has transferred to the InterContinental Mountain Resort &
Spa Mzaar in Lebanon as general manager. Most recently, he held assignments as general manager and regional director of operations in Egypt.
He has previously held positions as general manager at the Regency InterContinental Hotel Bahrain and the Intercontinental Resort & Casino
Hurghada.
KEVORK DELDALIAN has transferred to the Crowne Plaza Muscat as general
manager, after successfully opening the Al Ahsa InterContinental Hotel in
Saudi Arabia. Kevork rejoined the company in 2001, and was previously at the
director of food and beverage at the Crowne Plaza Dubai and the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.
WILLIAM LATOUR has transferred to the Asmara InterContinental Hotel, in
Eritrea as general manager. He was promoted to general manager at the Mzaar
InterContinental Mountain Resort & Spa in 2001.
SEAN MORRIS has been promoted to general manager of the Al Ain
InterContinental Resort. Sean started his career as a management trainee with
the Savoy Group, and worked in the UK for a number of years before working
overseas in Melbourne and Dubai. He joined the company in 1992 as food &
beverage director at the InterContinental London, and has subsequently been
resident manager in Athens, Cairo, and most recently at the InterContinental
Abu Dhabi.
ABDUL KADER MUHTADIE has been appointed as general manager of the Al
Ahsa InterContinental. He has rejoined the company after working previously
at the Riyadh Conference Palace, the Al Jubail InterContinental, and the Dar Al
Tawhid InterContinental Makkah as executive assistant manager.
