8,500 meeting planners are set to receive
a comprehensive guide to
regional Victorian and Melbourne venues, accommodation, incentive and leisure product, thanks to a joint venture project by the Regional Victoria
Conference Group (RVCG) and Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB).
Launched at AIME 2003, the two volume Planner’s Guide is an essential
resource for anyone organising an event in Victoria.
“After producing the Melbourne Planner’s Guide annually for more than 25
years, MCVB is pleased to have been appointed to handle sales and production for the second Regional Victoria Planner’s Guide,” said Effie
Dimitropoulos, Director of Marketing Communications, MCVB.
The Regional Victoria PG 2003 includes 69 meeting venues covering all 12
Victorian regions.
“We are delighted to collaborate with MCVB to produce these guides for
meeting planners, which together will offer the best of Melbourne and
Victoria in one package,” said Kevin Bourke, co-chairman, RVCG.
“Regional Victoria is a ‘hot spot’ for conferencing and business is growing
every year, as more planners discover the wealth of infrastructure, the
variety of attractions and the unique character of each regional centre.
Whether it’s a helicopter flight over the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve
Apostles, a trip back in time at Sovereign Hill, a tour of the Yarra Valley or
Mornington Peninsula wineries or a river cruise down the mighty Murray, Victoria has some of the most beautiful and diverse locations and venues.
“The Regional Victoria PG 2003 will now be produced more often –
biennially instead of every three years – and we are excited to be printing an
extra 2,000 copies to meet demand,” said Mr Bourke.
The Melbourne PG 2003 has also been enhanced. This year it contains 142
Melbourne venues, accommodation, incentive, tourism and leisure products,
plus a products and services listing, previously published separately.
Regional Victoria PG 2003/04 and Melbourne PG 2003 will be distributed
together for the first time as a two-volume set, in newly designed,
user-friendly packaging.
Copies will be available
online, and internationally through ATC, Tourism Victoria, MCVB international offices and at tradeshows in Europe, North America and Asia. |
