Thai Airways International to offer more destinations

Thai Airways International recently held a press conference and an evening reception in Bangkok under the theme, 'Going More Global, More Wonders' to introduce two new destinations, Chennai in India and Luang Prabang in Laos.

THAI's flight operations to Luang Prabang will allow tourists to enjoy the interesting architecture and culture of the ancient city, which has been designated a World Heritage Site. Luang Prabang is also important for air transport between Thailand and Laos. Details of THAI's new destinations are as follows:

- Bangkok - Chennai - Dubai v.v. : Began flight operations on 26 October 2003, four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, utilizing Airbus 330-300 aircraft

- Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang v.v. : Begins flight operations on 29 November 2003, three times a week, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, utilizing ATR 72 aircraft

In addition, to further boost travel to Chiang Mai and enhance its image as the aviation and tourism hub of northern Thailand, THAI recently introduced the 'Love Chiang Mai, Love Panda' campaign.

THAI is also about to launch flight operations on the route Chiang Mai - Rangoon v.v., as of 30 November 2003 onward, with four weekly flights, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, utilizing ATR 72 aircraft. 

The Taipei - Hong Kong - Chiang Mai route will be operated three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, utilizing Airbus 330-300 aircraft.

The Tokyo - Chiang Mai - Bangkok route will be operated three times a week, every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, utilizing Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

Including the new routes, THAI's network will cover 74 destinations: 13 domestic destinations and 61 international destinations.
