Beginning December 1, Korean Air is expanding the number of codesharing
on its SkyTeam partner Delta flights within the US by adding an additional 65
routes.
Korean Air and Delta are currently selling seats on each other’s
flights on 45 US domestic routes operated by Delta and 27 trans-Pacific and
inter Asian routes operated by Korean Air.
The two SkyTeam
carriers are expanding their cooperative efforts to add more US destinations
including West Palm Beach, Seattle, Las Vegas and Buffalo to the current
codeshare routes. With the latest addition of 65 new routes, the total number
of US inter city routes offered to Korean Air customers will be increased to
110.
“With the extended codeshare with our SkyTeam partner Delta, customers
will have even more expanded travel opportunities from Asia to the U.S, especially in the southern and eastern parts of the country,” said BH Won,
Korean Air senior vice president, international affairs & SkyTeam.
The codeshare
relationship between Korean Air and Delta dates back to 1995 and the two
carriers have been cooperating on many aspects of their operations since
then. At the present time, Delta Air Lines maintains its inter Asian network by
codesharing with Korean Air on many popular travel destinations in Asia such as Narita, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Bangkok, Hong Kong,
Kuala Lumpur, and Auckland. |
