Four of The Peninsula Hotels' luxury properties - The Peninsula Bangkok,
The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Chicago and The Peninsula Beverly Hills - have been awarded top honors from the readers of Condé
Nast Traveler in its 16th Annual Readers' Choice Awards appearing in the
November 2003 issue.
The Peninsula Bangkok, located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River,
was chosen as the number one hotel in all of Asia by the readers of Condé
Nast Traveler. The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Hotels' flagship property and known worldwide for its timeless elegance, was voted number
two in the Top Five Asian Hotels, tied for this honor with the Four Seasons,
Singapore.
The Peninsula Hotels' newest property, The Peninsula Chicago, ranked third
in the Top Fifteen North American Hotels by the magazine's readers, and The Peninsula Beverly Hills ranked fifth in the same category.
Also, in the October 2003 issue of Condé Nast Traveler, The Peninsula
Hotels was voted number one by readers in both the North American and International categories of the magazine's Business Travel Awards, with the
three U.S. Peninsula properties taking the number three slot in the domestic
"Value for Cost" survey, and the Asian hotels coming at number four in the
international rankings for value.
"We value very highly the opinions of our guests and appreciate their
continued support and honors that they have been bestowed upon us," said
Clement Kwok, Chief Executive Officer of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, owner of The Peninsula Hotels. "The readers of Condé Nast
Traveler have chosen our hotels as among the very best in the world and each staff member of The Peninsula Hotels deserves the credit for these
awards, as they each strive every day to surpass the expectations of our
guests."
Regarding Peninsula Hotels' top distinctions in the Business Travel Awards,
the magazine wrote, "At the end of the day, business travelers want comfort
- and no other hotel group on the planet provides it as well, apparently, as
the seven urban Peninsula properties. Check-in is done in your room. Buttons on bedside panels let you draw the curtains, adjust the room
temperature and flip on the DO NOT DISTURB sign. Bathrooms have both a speakerphone and a steam-free TV screen above the bathtub. And soon
every room will come with high-speed wireless Internet access. The international properties - located in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila and Beijing
- have the added distinction of achieving a near-perfect dining score
(97.8)." |
