The Dubai World Trade Centre
(DWTC) has announced that they will introduce a new registration system called E-Access to better serve exhibitors and
visitors to exhibitions starting with Gitex 2003 in October this year.
"To enable swift and easy access to exhibitions and to reduce queues at any
major event is a task that organisers have to face and we are putting in place
the E-Access system that enables smooth and swift entry for exhibitors and
visitors to the show," said DWTC Director General, Mubarak bin Fahad.
He noted that the new system makes use of software provided by a French
company - General Location (GL) and the hardware or the gates are provided
by a Belgian company - Automatic Systems (AS). "E-Access provides complete integrated platform tools for events database management and
helps in creating and customizing databases, enables import and control of
unstructured data, management of badge printing and is altogether secure,
networked and reliable," Mr. bin Fahad remarked.

E-Access can also be rented out to other interested exhibition organisers and
will lend itself to sponsorship opportunities including sponsorship of all
badges. The new system will also enable easy storage and retrieval of information through one centralised server.
E-Access
is expected to be a real value added service for exhibition organisers and
visitors because it will be suitable for any event and it will be fast, multilingual,
Windows compatible and allow pre and on site registration. |
