Bill Wolf has joined
Virgin Blue as Account Manager for
North America Sales.
The appointment is part of the Brisbane based carrier's push to attract
International travellers who visit Australia and appreciate the same affordable
and efficient air travel option that they have in the States.
The United States is the home of pioneer Low Fare Carrier, South West; so
American flyers are well versed in the concept of low fare airlines and have an
appreciation of the benefits of non-traditional carriers.
Virgin Blue's Global Sales Manager, Jon Marshall said, "Virgin Blue has
developed an attractive route network to all the key cities across Australia. We
will soon be venturing to some of the Pacific's most popular destinations such
as Fiji and Vanuatu and are keen to expand our International sales coverage.
We see Bill's role as a way of introducing Virgin Blue to travellers before they
leave home. They are then able to make their Australian bookings in advance,
making sure they get great deals wherever they fly.
Bill Wolf will bring to the Virgin Blue team a blend of travel agent and airline
experience, having worked with American Express, Air L.A. and
EuropebyAir.
He said, "It is an exciting opportunity to be joining an airline that has
revolutionised air travel in Australia and I look forward to working with such an
enthusiastic and innovative group of people who in less than three years, have
built Virgin Blue into a profitable, highly successful award winning airline."
The Virgin Blue formula of low fares, electronic ticketing and making bookings
via the Internet or through travel agents using the Sabre computer system, is
expected to be an attractive and streamlined option for American travellers
with their sights set on Australia. Corporate and travel agent sales matters for North America will be handled by
Bill who will be based in the Los Angeles area and available at 661 424 9229,
fax 661 244 4980 or email VirginBlueUSA@wolfpack.bz. |
