Thanpuying Viraya Javakul, Chairperson of the Sirikit Medical Centre
Fund-Raising committee and the Chairperson of the Ramathibodi Foundation
Central committee, presided over a press conference held recently at the Sirikit Medical Center, Ramathibodi Hospital, to announce the proceeds
from fund-raising activities that will go towards the Sirikit Medical Center in
2003.
To mark the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen on 12 August 2003, the
Ramathibodi Foundation Central Committee plans to organize a series of
events to raise funds for Her Majesty the Queens Sirikit Medical Center and to
purchase medical equipment for the heart center, general medical equipment,
and to provide medical care for underpriviledged.
At present the number of patients waiting to receive treatment at Ramathibodi
Hospital are increasing, especially patients suffering from coronary thrombosis, a prevalent cause of death and disabilities, and a leading cause of
death in Thailand when immediate treatment is not received.
The Sirikit Medical Center Fund-Raising Program 2003 will take place on Army
Television Channel 5 on Monday 4 August 2003 from 21:00-24:00 hrs. The emcees for the program will be Sanya Khunakorn and Sinjai
Plengpanich.
The program will comprise of four
segments:
1. "Phra Mae Thai" musical performance from Channel 3 in honor of Her
Majesty the Queen.
2. Comedy show from Channel 7 on a theme related to patients, doctors, and
nurses.
3. Musical performance by artists from GMM Grammy, namely Nanthida
Kaewbuasai, Maleewan Jemina, Panadda Ruangwut, and Peter Corp Dyrendal.
4. "The Sentimental Journey" by guest singers namely Thanpuying Viraya
Javakul, Dolchai Boonyaratavej, Assistant Professor Duangjai Amatyakul, Vinai Phunturak, Virat Yoothavorn, Vichai Boonyayanta, Isariya
Khooprasert, Kanyarat Boonying, Saran Suebsantiwongse, Tongchai
Lertarunwatana, Arthur Panyachote, Varut Sarobol, and Rungrat Kuisuwan. The theme follows
travels through four regions: firstly, Europe with songs like La Vie En Rose, O
Sol Mio, Edelweiss; secondly, the USA with I Left My Heart In San Francisco,
New York New York; thirdly, Latin America with Pepito, Quando Quando
Quando, Besame Mucho; and finally Thailand with a series of Thai songs.
The program will also feature a multivision slide presentation highlighting Her
Majesty the Queen's support for the medical profession Thailand, and the
history of the Sirikit Medical Center. |
