Marriott International
has announced the opening of the 212-room Renaissance Beijing Hotel. This is the fifth Renaissance Hotel established in
China, and the 30th hotel in Marriott’s lodging portfolio in the country.
Owned by Air China, the Renaissance Beijing Hotel is part of a mixed-use
development in the Chaoyang District of northeast Beijing that includes the
12-story property, an office building providing 53,000 square meters of space
and an underground parking garage for 260 automobiles.
Rashid Ahmed, general manager of the Renaissance Beijing Hotel, said, “As a
result of China’s burgeoning economic growth and the potential impact of the
2008 Olympics games, the travel trade in the capital is blooming.”
Air China representatives said, “The Renaissance Beijing Hotel is our most
important lodging establishment in Beijing. Both Air China and Marriott
International are renowned hospitality companies worldwide, and our partnership will create synergy. We are confident that the Renaissance BeijingHotel will be a huge success.”

Guest rooms include a large work desk with desk-level power and data port
for high-speed internet access, three telephones, cable/satellite television,
in-room safe, duvet covers, bathrobes, marble bathroom with a separate
shower, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, mini-bar, refrigerator and an
umbrella. The hotel also offers a full array of special guest services, including
a business center, online flight information, Renaissance Club Floor, safe
deposit boxes available at the front desk, same-day laundry/valet service, daily
housekeeping service, non-smoking floors, complimentary daily newspaper,
an airline/car rental/tour desk, lobby concierge and car park.
For dining and entertainment, the Renaissance Beijing Hotel has a Chinese
restaurant with nine private dining rooms; a lobby bar and lounge; 24-hour
in-room dining services; and a casual restaurant serving three meals daily.
Recreational amenities include an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center.
For social events and conferences, the Renaissance Beijing Hotel has a 426-square-meter ballroom and three boardrooms.
Four Renaissance hotels are currently operating in China: the 543-room New
World Renaissance Hotel Kowloon (Hong Kong), the 860-room Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, the 544-room Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai
Hotel, and the recently opened, 280-room Renaissance Tianjin Hotel. The 289-room Renaissance Wuhan Hotel will open in 2004. |
