Dragonair will take delivery of a new Airbus A321 tomorrow, taking the size of
its fleet to 23 aircraft.
This is the second new A321 to join Dragonair in less than two months and it
takes the average age of the airline's fleet to just four years. Both the new
aircraft have been purchased by Dragonair, which will now operate a total of
six A321s.
The latest addition is powered by two V2500 engines from IAE and has a
dual-class cabin with seating for 24 passengers in Business Class and 148 in
Economy Class. It sports the airline's new-look cabin décor and features
newly designed seating and in-flight power supply for lap-tops in both classes.
The aircraft will be deployed on Dragonair's Beijing and Shanghai routes,
enabling the airline to increase its frequencies to these destinations. At
present we operate 10 or 11 daily flights to Shanghai and flights to Beijing will
rise to up to eight a day from October 26 when the airline introduces it's winter
schedule.
"The arrival of this second new A321 will enable us to further improve our
customer service on the Beijing and Shanghai routes, strengthening our positioning as the airline of choice between Hong Kong and China," said
Dragonair's Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Hui. "Passengers will have a
greater choice of timings to choose from, and they will also benefit from the
higher comfort levels of our new cabin interiors." |
