During the period 8-14 April,
Singapore's total visitor arrivals recorded 48,600, a decline of 68% over
a year ago due, STB says, to the strong impact of SARS. Countries like Thailand, USA, Hong Kong SAR, Japan and Malaysia experienced more than 70% decreases in arrivals.
From
the beginning of April (April 1 - 14) visitor arrivals have declined 62% or
180,500 with Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, USA and Japan recording the highest percentage
declines.
