Dragonair's figures for September 2003 show cargo continuing its strong
performance and healthy demand from the business travel sector.
The airline carried 25,627 tonnes of cargo in September 2003, an increase of
11.5% over August, and a 39.8% jump compared with September last year.
The number of passengers carried was 307,157, slightly ahead of the number
flying at the same period last year.
Said the airline's Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Hui: "The cargo figures are
excellent, and they should remain strong over the next few months as we enter the peak season for cargo transportation: the last quarter of the calendar
year is traditionally our busiest time.
"We are also seeing healthy demand from business travellers and we expect
this trend to continue as well."
Mr Hui added: "Another positive for us is that revenue is returning to
pre-SARS levels." |
