Reed Travel Exhibitions, organisers of the forthcoming Mediterranean Travel
Fair (MTF), have confirmed that the event, taking place 16 - 18 September 2003
at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Egypt, is set to
build on the success of last years show, with large international participation
as well as representation from a number of key Egyptian Companies.
To date, this years' event sees representation from 18 countries, with a
number of new exhibitors including Greece and Qatar who are represented for
the first time at Mediterranean Travel Fair. Confirmed exhibitors also include
the major tourist boards of Jordan, Morocco, Bahrain and Kuwait along with
key Egyptian tour operators and travel agencies who will also be in attendance.
Supporting the event are the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, the Egyptian
Tourist Authority, the Egyptian Tourism Federation, the Egyptian Travel Agents Association who are also the events official
ground handler, the Egyptian Hotel Association and Egypt Air the official carrier. The Egyptian
Prime Minister, Dr Atef Ebeid and the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Dr Mamdouh El-Beltagui, will open the fourth Mediterranean Travel Fair on
Tuesday 16th September.
'MTF is not just a trade exhibition,' said Vicky Redwood, Marketing Manager,
MTF. 'We have a full educational seminar programme which runs alongside the exhibition, which this year involves a number of key associations who are
new at Mediterranean Travel Fair. In addition, we have social functions every
evening giving visitors to the show time to experience the spectacular surroundings and warm hospitality of Egypt.'
The comprehensive seminar programme to date includes a session run by
Market Vision, the international Middle Eastern partner to IPK on "Gulf Travel
Trends". Representatives from MPI (Meeting Professionals International) and
CIMPA (Connected International Meeting Professionals Association) will cover
topics related to the meetings and incentive market in two separate sessions
"Trends in the Global Meetings and Event Industry" and "International Meetings in a Changed Meetings World".
Intoegypt.com, one of the regions on-line travel planning companies will host
a seminar on "e-Marketing Benefits to the Travel Industry". Attendees will also
be looking into the future with Space Adventures who will be conducting a
session on "The Next Frontier in Travel: Space Tourism". This presentation to
be given by Christopher Faranetta, Vice President of Special Projects, will
focus on the space experiences available today, those planned for the future
and will highlight how space tourism integrates with both adventure and luxury travel, and corporate incentives & rewards.
Social events will include the MTF Gala Dinner, hosted by Dr Mamdouh
El-Beltagui, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, scheduled to be held at the
Mohamed Ali Palace in Manial, Cairo, one of the most famous palaces in Egypt.
The Egyptian Tourism Federation will also be hosting a Mediterranean style
dinner aboard a floating restaurant offering spectacular views across the river
Nile.
MTF covers the Eastern Mediterranean region including Cyprus, Egypt,
Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Turkey. With a large number of visitors
already pre-registered for the show, MTF looks set to continue as the most
significant event in the region. |
