The Regent Jakarta
is set to re-open on August 4, 2003 after undergoing major
flood protection work following extensive flooding in Jakarta in 2002
which forced the hotels closure in February 2002.
"Today's business and leisure travelers are consistently raising the bar of
expectations for their hospitality experiences," said Fazal Samad,
General Manager
of The Regent Jakarta. "The Regent
Jakarta is committed to continually redefining the ultimate in guest comfort
and customer care and ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, is
never overlooked. Our loyal and well-trained staff is the vital link that makes
possible the exceptional quality of service that has become synonymous with
the Regent name. Everyone here is extremely excited to be able to once again
provide that service to our guests."
Since closing in 2002, The Regent Jakarta has undergone major flood
protection work while still keeping the great structural and design elements of
the hotel that many guests have called their "home away from home." Open
since 1995, The Regent Jakarta returns in August to offer the experience of
uncompromising efficiency and highly personalized, anticipatory service that
Regent guests expect and value around the world.
The Regent Jakarta will reopen in two phases. Phase One, which is scheduled
for completion this August, will include guest rooms and suites in the Tower
Wing, the elegantly comfortable Regent Club and Club floors, all done with a
fresh contemporary look. It will also include full operation of the Lobby
Lounge; Seasons Café; the Steak House; the Bar; the Cellar and Library, for
wine connoisseurs; and the Deli. Phase Two follows later with the re-opening
of Lai Ching, the Chinese restaurant known for its great Cantonese cuisine,
and the completion of the renovation of the Ballroom.
