China Southern Airlines
has expanded its 747-400 European cargo flights to five times weekly and has now started carrying express mail to
Shanghai.
Originally beginning European/Sino cargo service with two weekly flights
in 2002, China Southern Airlines now operates Boeing 747-400 freighter service every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Liege, Belgium to
Shanghai with continuing cargo service to Shenzhen.

All flights use China Southern Airlines' new Boeing 747-400 cargo aircraft
and are operated under code-share agreement with TNT Airways.
China Southern Airlines is also moving TNT Express mail to Shanghai
every Sunday and Thursday.
In combination with its wide body Boeing 777 services from Amsterdam to
Beijing and Guangzhou, China Southern Airlines now offers eight weekly "belly" and direct 747-400 cargo flights from Europe to China.
"China Southern Airlines is seizing the new business opportunities
brought about by China's entry in the World Trade Organization and is implementing this aggressive strategy to expand its global cargo reach.
We've created an all-new Cargo Department to specialize in cargo business management and substantial cargo bases are operational in both
Guangzhou and Shenzhen," said Mr. Li Kun, Vice President, China Southern Airlines.
He added that China Southern Airlines has been constantly strengthening
its cooperation with domestic and International carriers to retain its core
business and expand its global cargo network. In June 2002, China Southern Airlines inked an official agreement with China State Post Bureau
to jointly operate China Postal Airlines ... with China Southern holding 49% of the joint venture at an investment of RMB 150M. |
