Readers of
one of the UK's most distinguished travel magazines, Conde Nast
Traveller, have voted Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai as their 'Favourite Overseas
Business Hotel' during the 2003 Conde Nast Traveller Reader's Awards, held
in London recently.
The hotel surpassed all criteria with a score of 91.89 out of a possible 100,
with runners up including Four Seasons George V in Paris, Shangri-La in Singapore and The Peninsula in Hong Kong. The hotel scored the highest in
all categories, achieving scores above 84 in all of the 10 criteria, including
business services, systems available and leisure facilities. Emirates Towers
Hotel also received 18th position overall in the World's Top 100 ranking.
The award-winning Emirates Towers Hotel, a landmark in Dubai, which has
dominated the skyline since its opening three years ago, is strategically
located in the central business district of Dubai. The 400-room hotel is, at 305
metres high, the third tallest hotel in the world while the adjacent Office Tower
is the tallest building in the Middle East at 350 metres. The 51-storey towers,
connected by the prestigious Emirates Towers Shopping Boulevard, are a dramatic backdrop to Dubai's business district and a highly visible statement
of Dubai's corporate success.
Robert
Kunkler, General Manager of Emirates Towers, who was in London to receive the award, said: "We are proud and delighted to be recognised by
readers of the world's most influential travel magazine and being awarded
with the prestigious title of 'Favourite Overseas Business Hotel' is a very
important acknowledgement for us. We strongly feel that this award presents
real recognition of our business principles and values and is a reflection of
our commitment to quality in all that we do". He added: "I would like to thank
all colleagues of Emirates Towers Hotel and Jumeirah International who have
contributed to the success of the hotel and the achievement of this prestigious award through their hard work and dedication".
