Finnair Cargo has opened a new cargo route on the Vienna-Helsinki-Vienna
axis. Helsinki now acts as a 'Gateway' between Eastern Europe and Asia, making excellent cargo connections possible in both directions. The new
route will help to meet the rising demand for such a service in Eastern Europe, as well as support Finnair's existing Asia strategy.
The flights are operated using a European Air Transport Boeing 757 freight
aircraft, with which about 30 tonnes can be transported at a time. Connections from Vienna and other locations in Eastern Europe make use
mainly of overland transport and in co-operation with partner companies.
The cargo route is operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The
aircraft sets off from Vienna in the morning, arriving at Helsinki in the
afternoon. The return to Vienna takes off the same afternoon. |
