The Concorde Group has appointed Mr Scott Cammell to the new role of
National Sales Manager, SmartFares, the award winning air fares and accommodation database.
Mr Cammell brings 25 years wholesale travel and management experience to
Concorde, most recently as Managing Director of Insight Vacations.
He will play an integral role in expanding the SmartFares operation, which
recently was named Best Agency Support Service in the 2003 AFTA National
Travel Industry Awards.
"SmartFares continues to grow in both use and sophistication," said
Concorde's General Manager Marketing, Ms Sue Notley. "Later this year we
will announce even more developments for this system, which will reduce workload and increase productive selling time for travel agents.
"Scott Cammell has significant industry experience, and brings to Concorde
the expertise we require to help build a new national sales and marketing
strategy for SmartFares, and the ability to develop travel agent support for the
enhanced system."
Effective immediately, Mr Camell will work with both the SmartFares group and
Concorde's national sales team to help develop and promote the expanded system.
Launched in February 1997, SmartFares has become not only the leader in the
field of air fare search engines, but an important part of the travel industry
infrastructure in Australia, and increasingly in New Zealand, Asia and Africa,
where various versions of the database are in use. |
