Marriott's Asia Pacific GSO announced recently that its Global Sales
Organisation has been repositioned to incorporate three defined regions and key promotions in two of these areas: -
North Asia (headed by Denny Ma)
Denny has been promoted to Senior Regional Director, Global Sales,
North Asia, covering the GSO teams in Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai. Denny has worked with Marriott since January 1995. He brings
a wealth of knowledge, plus nearly 20 years of hotel sales experience, to
this important role. Apart from the MBA studies he completed in the
US in the early 1990s, Denny has just recently completed a M.Sc. in eCommerce and Internet Computing Studies, which will support his team
strategies as the China market evolves with various electronic reservation
mediums.
South East Asia (headed by Michael Aw)
Michael has been promoted into the new position of Regional Director,
Global Sales, South East Asia, covering the Singapore GSO team and taking on the responsibility of leading the Asia Pacific GSA Network
teams. Michael is an ideal candidate for this role having had extensive travel agent experience before joining Marriott in May 1998, when he
opened the Singapore GSO office. Since 2000, Michael has been supporting the Alliance Account Teams in the region and this role will now
be dispersed amongst the region's GSO associates, who have been the key local contacts for these accounts. Michael will continue to lead the
teams managing the Alliance Accounts based in Singapore.
Australia/New Zealand (headed by Marie
Koury)
Marie, as Regional Director, Global Sales, Australia/New Zealand, will
continue to lead the GSO teams in Sydney and Melbourne, plus support the account teams leading Marriott's Asia Pacific relationship with
Travel Management Companies. Her team will also be challenged to look at future business development opportunities for the
region. Marie joined Marriott in 1995, with the majority of time spent in
Los Angeles. Since arriving in Sydney 15 months ago, she has managed the restructuring of the office into account focused team based associates
and organised the office move into the Sydney Harbour Marriott. |
