The
eagerly anticipated fourth annual World Gourmet Festival at The Regent
Bangkok is set to kick off October 6.
The seven-day celebration showcases the award-winning cuisine of nine
chefs from America and Europe who specialise in Latin, Italian, French, Japanese and American regional cuisine. The festival also includes a series of
exciting dinners paired with superb wines from famous vineyards of the world
as well as daily seminars, cooking classes and wine tastings.
Director of Food and Beverage Robert Logan said, "Each year we strive to
create a sensational line up that surpasses the previous by identifying a fresh,
young selection of international chefs. Our goal is to bring to Thailand a
world-class group of chefs, outstanding wines plus innovative products that
are otherwise unattainable in this part of the world".

An entire week of lunches, tastings and dinners
The Fourth World Gourmet Festival opens on the evening of Monday, October
6 in the Ballroom with an elegant champagne reception and food stations featuring signature dishes prepared by the participating chefs. Guests will
also have the opportunity to mingle with the chefs and the vintners.
The following seven gastronomic days will feature mid-day cooking classes,
evening wine tastings and dinner celebrations that allow guests to indulge in
multi-national cuisines - American, Japanese, Italian, French and Latin. All
dinners will include courses that are paired with exquisite wines, cocktails and
champagne. The celebrations will take place in the Hotel's popular restaurants
and function rooms.
The World Gourmet Gala Dinner on Friday, October 10 promises to be a
unique and memorable affair. A cocktail reception will take place from 6:30 pm
to 7:00 pm followed by a seven-course dinner and entertainment by the sultry
vocalist, Camilla Ernen and the Big Band. A live auction will feature exciting
travel prizes that showcase sister Four Seasons hotels around the globe.
A portion of all funds generated at the dinner will be donated to charity. The
Regent Bangkok is proudly supporting HRH Princess Soamsawali's "Save a Child's Life from AIDS Project" under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross
Society which provides medicine for pregnant mothers who are inflicted with
AIDS and eventually save a child's life from being infected.
In addition to the evening dining events, there will be afternoon seminars.
Scheduled highlights include seminars on Tea Blending, Decadent Chocolate,
Olive Oils and Vinegars and Cheese.
