Luxury boutique resort management company Alila Hotels & Resorts has been awarded a Management Agreement to become the operator of the new Acqua resort development in Phuket, Thailand. The deal is a major move for the young company on their steady growth track to make a serious impression on the South East Asian hotel market.

Thai development company Acqua Phuket appointed the visionary hoteliers citing their ground breaking conceptual strategies and contemporary management style. “Alila is the way forward. We believe that with our shared vision we will bring a world class resort unparalleled in the region to a most influential and sophisticated guest demographic." said Jean-Marc Huss, Managing Director, Acqua Co Ltd.

"Alila's natural dynamism, track record and innovative approaches makes them an obvious choice as partners in the operation of our property," added  Khun Khemanan Chiamanusorn, Owner and Chairman of Nopawong Construction Co Ltd.

Set for completion in December 2005, Alila Phuket will signal a new era in hotel design on the island. The individual villa units are being made available for sale to discerning buyers.

Alila anticipates that the fifty-seven exclusively designed sea-facing two-bedroom villas set over two expansive levels with open terraces and a private swimming pool will sell out at a rapid rate.

“Alila Phuket is the ideal investment as it completely integrates lifestyle and holiday options for those wanting the best of contemporary communications, design and personal comfort,” said Frederic Flageat-Simon, Managing Director, Alila Hotels & Resorts.

Commenting further, Frederic says: “Acqua’s vision, together with Alila, to develop a contemporary resort focusing on modern lifestyle is geared for a sophisticated and discerning clientele looking for something extraordinary.”

“We are honored and delighted that Acqua Phuket - a leader in providing innovative development - saw Alila as a fitting partner for this exciting new venture,” he said.

Alila Phuket is the fourth property managed by the group who anticipate a surge in business as they answer the regions call to provide innovative lifestyle thinking and management.

The Villas

Already receiving attention for its design mastery by leading Hong Kong based architect Adrian McCarroll of Original Vision, the six-hectare resort looks destined to become a tropical icon in the region.

Located overlooking the spectacular Andaman Sea on the west coast of Phuket, the resort sits on Kamala Beach at the beginning of Phuket’s famed stretch of luxury residences, ‘Millionaires Mile’.

Covering an immense 358sqm of floor space, each villa will feature luxurious accommodations including a reception hall, gourmet kitchen, dining and living areas, and extensive terraces on an upper level. The lower level includes spacious terraces and two king-sized master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms complete with outdoor shower and bath, leading onto sunbathing decks and a private pool.

Inside the villas, sleek interiors and contemporary designed furniture and artworks will offer a stylish and fresh look drawn from a modern interpretation of Thai designed features. The designs reflect a relaxed and informal contemporary residence offering state of the art in-room features including surround sound system, video on demand, and individually climate controlled features.
