Twenty four students from 14 nationalities, including two from the
UAE, have enrolled with Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing
(DTCM) to attend the latest Dubai Tour Guide Award Training Course.
On successful completion of the course, the UAE nationals and
expatriates will become DTCM accredited Tour Guides, a crucial role in the
booming tourism industry. DTCM launched the Licensed Tour Guide Training Course three years ago.
The participants will be given theoretical as well as practical knowledge
regarding different aspects of Dubai, including general tourism, economic
progress, infrastructure development projects and tourist attractions. First
Aid Training will also form an important part of the course.
Faisal Al Muhairy, Executive Trainer with Training Solutions, said:
"Participants will gain invaluable knowledge of Dubai, which in turn will
assist them to pass on information about Dubai to tourists in order to create better awareness of our history, culture and traditions. They will
also learn about the wide range of development projects currently under progress."
Participants will be taken on a tour of the historical and other tourist
attractions including the Gold Souk, Dubai Museum, Al Ahmadiya School and Al
Shindagha. |
