EIBTM 2004, held in Barcelona from 30 November - 2 December 2004, has
signed on as an exclusive sponsor for The American Society of Association
Executives’ (ASAE) global initiative, the 2003 ‘Associations Make A Better
World’ Awards Program.
In its second year, the ASAE’s awards program is designed to recognise and
promote understanding of associations as significant contributors to societies
and economies worldwide. The 2003 awards program will honour association
work in three categories: Economic Achievement, Social Achievement, and Advocacy/Policy Achievement.
“Last year’s inaugural ‘Associations Make A Better World' Awards generated a
great response from the association community internationally, and ASAE is
looking forward to once again bringing some well-deserved recognition to the
contributions of our community operating across borders in today’s increasingly interdependent world,” said ASAE President and CEO John H.
Graham IV.
“ASAE is also grateful for the support and sponsorship of the program this
year from EIBTM and its parent, Reed Travel Exhibitions, who is consistently
infusing its events worldwide with new innovations and fresh ideas,” he said.
The 2003 awards are sponsored by EIBTM and one representative from each
of the three award-winning associations this year will be invited, expenses
paid, to receive their award during EIBTM 2004, from 30 November to 2 December at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona.
Debbie Jackson, Exhibition Director for EIBTM said, “EIBTM is pleased to be
able to support and recognise the achievement of associations and their contributions to society on a global basis. Our partnership with ASAE and the
‘Associations Make a Better World’ program will complement and enhance the
expanded Association Program planned for EIBTM in Barcelona next year.”
Any membership-based non-profit association worldwide can apply, including
U.S.-based associations working internationally as well as associations based
outside the U.S. Programs are eligible that were carried out between July 2002
and October 2003 and those that cross national borders are especially encouraged. Entries will be judged on the level of significant impact achieved;
innovation; and involvement of members, volunteers and the public. The online entry form for the 2003 Associations Make A Better World Awards Program can be found at:
