Sanctuary Resorts, a Hong Kong based holistic resort management company,
has signed a management contract with the owners of a new luxury resort development North of Phuket, in Kao
Lak, Thailand.
The Kao Lak, Phanga Na region has undergone a recent boom in sustainable
tourism. Kao Lak offers a perfect alternative to the densely developed main
Phuket area. Kao Lak's natural beaches, corals, proximity to the Similan diving
sanctuary and tropical rainforest in Kao Lak's national park all provide ample
reasons to visit the area.
The boutique resort is located on a pristine stretch of beach and is just one
hour away from Phuket International Airport. The resort will emphasise the
natural environment Kao Lak is renowned for, and is aptly called "La Flora".
There will be 68 villa and rooms, an extensive Sanctuary spa, a range of food
and beverage outlets and numerous leisure activities. In addition, the resort
will also offer Sanctuary Resorts signature body, mind and spirit programs.
Michel van der Hoeven, head of the regional office of Sanctuary Resorts in
Thailand, states "The design and concept of the resort is high end, informal
and tropical. The villas will feature large, semi-open bathrooms and some
bathrooms will have private Jacuzzis or plunge pools. The rooms will be set in
low rise buildings in line with Sanctuary Resorts' philosophy of providing
natural and culturally sound spaces to balance body, mind and spirit. Some of
the rooms will have private courtyards and during construction, no effort will
be spared to minimize the impact on the environment. All facilities will be of
highest standard to ensure a comfortable experience unrivalled in this part of
Phang Nga".
The owner of the resort, renowned Thai businessman, Sompong Daopiset, felt
that Sanctuary Resorts complements his own philosophy on the importance of body mind and spirit and protecting the natural environment. Sanctuary
Reports offers ample expertise and dedication as a resort management company and a vision & mission where guests can balance their body, mind
and spirit in an environmentally sustainable place.
Andrew Jones, guardian and founder of Sanctuary Resorts added "With most
guests looking for a more natural experience, we feel that our two resorts in
Thailand complement each other and provide different ways to achieve a balance of one's body, mind and spirit. As part of our concept, we plan to
implement regular Master in Residence programs at the resort, as is done in all
other Sanctuary Resorts". |
