Reed Travel Exhibitions, organisers of International Golf Travel Market
(IGTM), have announced that the show is already 94% full with four months to go until
the event.
IGTM 2003, which will take place in the Dominican Republic from 8
-11 December, will be held within the all-inclusive resort of Punta Cana at the
Barceló Bávaro Resort Convention Centre.
"The Dominican Republic, the host destination for 2003, certainly seems to be
an added attraction for this year's delegates," said Mark Walsh, Event Manager,
IGTM.
"On the exhibitor side the show is now 94% full - a fantastic achievement four months prior to the event and with representation from 38
countries it looks set to be the most internationally attended IGTM in the
events' history. New at IGTM this year we have participation from Hungary,
Jamaica, Cyprus, Greece, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico and for the first time
the Brazilian Tourist Board - EMBRATUR, will be in attendance. The show floor also sees the presence of country pavilions from Scotland, Wales, Italy,
Ireland, Costa Del Sol (Spain), France, and a particularly strong contingent
from Portugal." Walsh added.
One of the key features of this years location is that the whole event will be
taking place within the same building. The Buyer meets Supplier session will
be run from the impressive Gran Salon Bávaro situated inside the convention
centre, with the show stands themselves situated within the main body of the
conference facility and placed by geographical area of operation. With a total
of 24 meeting rooms, the Barceló Bávaro Convention Centre is the largest and
most modern meeting and exhibition facility in the Caribbean.
Accommodation at IGTM is also going to be close at hand for delegates with
both official hotels being just a five minute walk from the venue. These include
the Barceló Bávaro Palace, a luxurious 5 star hotel set directly on the beach
and The Barceló Bávaro Garden, a 4 star hotel set in lush tropical gardens.
IGTM is
one of the world's premier events focusing on golf travel. The event brings
together specialist golf tour operators, incentive travel agents, meetings and
conference organisers with leading hotels, golf courses, resorts and other
suppliers of golf related products. Buyer numbers already exceed the
number of buyers registered for this year compared to same point last
year. "An opportunity to be able to conduct business with the largest gathering of
golf tourism professionals in the world, by the beach, in the Caribbean, in
December is too good too miss," concluded Mark Walsh. |
