Continental Airlines
has announced an additional frequency for CO956 and CO957, effective July 5, 2003.
CO956 and CO957, also known as the "Island Hopper", operates between
Guam and Honolulu with stops in Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Kwajalein and
Majuro.
The extra flight will operate eastbound and westbound on Saturdays.
Unlike the current Island Hopper service, the new Saturday flight will overfly Pohnpei and Kosrae. A next-generation Boeing 737-800 will service
the twelve hour and ten minute flight.
"We've added this flight to the current Island Hopper service to meet the
expected increased summer travel demand," said Continental Micronesia President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Erwin. "Adding a Saturday
flight this summer will enable us to accommodate more customers and cargo along this very important route."
Celebrating 35 years of service in Guam and Micronesia, Continental Micronesia is headquartered in Guam and operates a Pacific hub from the A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport. A wholly owned subsidiary of Continental Airlines, Continental Micronesia offers more than 235 departures each week between 23 cities throughout the Pacific Rim, the Micronesian Islands and Hawaii with a fleet of 11 next-generation Boeing 737 narrowbody and 767 widebody aircraft. |
