China Southern Airlines
has begun code share flights with Shandong Airlines on 15 domestic routes.
The new code share agreement is effective immediately and is a
comprehensive program on nearly 70 flights which originate, arrive or stopover in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan or
Qingdao.
In addition to this new agreement with Shandong Airlines, China Southern
Airlines currently has code-share pacts in place with Sichuan Airlines and
Shanghai Airlines for flights between Guangzhou/Chengdu,
Guangzhou/Chongqing, Shenzhen/Chengdu, Shenzhen/Chongqing,
Guangzhou/Shanghai, Beijing/Chengdu and Beijing/Chongqing.
China Southern Airlines began preliminary code share operations in early
2001 with Shandong Airlines on two routes: Guangzhou/Qingdao and
Guangzhou/Jinan.
"Based upon the initially successful and mutually beneficial code share
agreement two years ago, China Southern and Shandong Airlines have now implemented full-scale code-share arrangements which mutually regarding
each airline's flights as their own with unified pricing and joint sales &
marketing and additional services for both carrier's passengers," said Mr. Li
Kun, Vice President, China Southern Airlines.
Mr. Li added that, "through code-share arrangements, China Southern
Airlines and Shandong Airlines can complement their own advantages with each other, then enlarging their own network, improving their route structure
and laying good foundation for their hub strategy. It further facilitates
passengers flying either China Southern Airlines or Shandong Airlines in
ticket purchases, passenger check-in, flight connections and transit flights.
China Southern Airlines' Sky Pearl Club members can also enjoy generating
new FFP miles on code-share flights operated by Shandong Airlines."
China Southern Airlines currently has code share agreements with
numerous International carriers, including: Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Japan Air Systems, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Vietnam
Airlines. |
