A stunning InterContinental resort opens later this year on Egypt’s Red Sea
coast, creating a superb new location for getaway breaks, conferences and
incentives.
The 453-room & suite InterContinental Abu Soma Resort Red Sea
will come under the spotlight at the Mediterranean Travel Fair, which takes place at Cairo
International Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 16-18.
Egypt’s third InterContinental resort shares the three-day exhibition stage with
new InterContinental and Holiday Inn hotels opening next year as part of
CityStars Heliopolis Cairo, a spectacular $600 million development combining
shopping, entertainment, office and residential facilities.
"We’re going to enjoy introducing the travel trade to the beautiful new
InterContinental resort at Abu Soma and the two new CityStars hotels,” said
Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle
East and Africa. “These are three very impressive properties which highlight
our commitment to continue setting the standard for hotel development in
Egypt, and the region as a whole.”
InterContinental Hotels Group currently manages 71 InterContinental, Crowne
Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in the Middle East and North Africa, including
eight in Egypt.
Located between Hurghada and Safaga on Egypt’s Red Sea Coast , the
InterContinental Abu Soma Resort Red Sea is highlighted by golden sandy
beaches, turquoise waters, palm trees and stunning desert island scenery.
Guest rooms include royal, deluxe, executive and junior suites, all with sea
views. Guests have a choice of eight international restaurants and bars, a
shopping arcade and beauty salon.
Leisure facilities include a superb private beach, tennis and squash courts,
indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a health club with sauna and
steamroom, whirlpool and massage. The resort also has its own stables, marina and diving centre. Conference and event organisers have the choice of
meeting rooms with high tech facilities, as well as a ballroom for up to 350

Opening in mid-2004, the 792-room InterContinental Heliopolis Cairo will be a
key part of the spectacular CityStars project. It has ten restaurants and bars, a
casino and nightclub, aqua spa and wellness centre, Cairo’s largest banquet
hall, and 16 conference and banqueting rooms. The 330-room Holiday Inn Heliopolis opens later next year. |
