From March 2003, Singapore Airlines is featuring a new French red in its
wine selection on its First Class service.
Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, or Pichon-Comtesse as
it is known, is famous for its seductive suppleness of flavour and intrinsic
elegance of style. The high percentage of Merlot in this superb vineyard that
is next to the famous Chateau Latour in the commune of Pauillac, brings an
early ripeness to the wine, while Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend assures it
of a long life.
The 1997 vintage will be served on the Airline's European and select routes
to Asia. It will be featured in the First Class wine list. This consists of two
reds and two whites, along with Dom Perignon and Krug Grand Cuvee champagnes, and Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny Port.
Passengers on SIA enjoy wines from
some of the very best vineyards in the world, selected by three world-renowned wine experts from the United Kingdom,
United States and Australia. The Airline spends close to S$26 million annually on its total wine purchases that comprise champagnes, old and
new world wines. |
