Carlson Hotels Worldwide,
today announced that its India-based partner, Sarovar Park Plaza Hotels, has
opened a new Park Plaza in Jaipur, India.
The Park Plaza Jaipur has a prime city location close to both shopping and
key business locations. The hotel is steps from Statue Circle on Prithviraj
Road and around one mile from M.I. Road, the main shopping area.
Convenient to transportation, it is
approximately seven miles from the airport and just two miles or so from
the railway station.
"We are especially excited with this hotel opening because the Park Plaza Jaipur is our
25th hotel to open in India," said Anil Madhok, managing director for Sarovar Park Plaza Hotels, which operates the extensive
network of Park Plaza and Park Inn hotels and resorts across India.
"Jaipur is one of the most progressive cities of Northern India, as well as one of the
most tourist friendly in India," he added.
Jaipur is the capital city of the northern Indian state of Rajasthan and is one
of the most vibrant and colorful cities of India. The nine-story Park Plaza
Jaipur is a boutique business hotel with 83 spacious, well-appointed rooms.
Guestrooms include double and twin rooms, as well as 24 deluxe rooms and
suites. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities including electronic
locks, tea/coffee makers, bath tubs, satellite television, central air-conditioning, and mini-bars.
"India has one of the fastest growing travel and tourism markets in their
region," added Jetse Pottinga, executive vice president and brand leader for
Park Hospitality, parent organization of Park Plaza hotels. "We believe there
is a strong future for Park Plaza in India, especially for the Park Plaza Jaipur
which is a key location for business or leisure travelers."
Known as India's "Pink City" because of the pink wash that most buildings
are periodically given, Jaipur has timeless appeal, surrounded on all sides
by rugged hills, crowned with forts and palaces and enclosed by embattled
walls. Houses with latticed windows line the streets with their rose pink
color, lending enchantment to the scene, which is virtually magical at
sunset. |
