Le Meridien Hotels
and Resorts has appointed Dean Schreiber to open one of Hong Kong's most interesting hotel projects in the much discussed Cyberport. Schreiber will
head up Le Meridien Cyberport as General Manager, Meridien's first Art + Tech
hotel in Asia.
Schreiber has previously opened the Century Harbour View Hotel and the
Harbour Plaza North Point in succession and has also had stints with Holiday
Inn and Intercontinental. His career has spanned over 17 years and six countries.
Schreiber, who grew up in Asia, studied Hotel Management in Austria before
moving back to his homeland, Australia. He returned to Asia with Holiday Inn
in the mid 80's and has been in the region ever since. He held the title of Hong
Kong's Youngest GM during his time with Harbour Plaza and Century.
Le Meridien Cyberport is due to open in September 2003 and apart from being
technologically superior to other Hong Kong hotels, will feature 42 inch
plasma screen televisions in every room, wireless broadband connectivity in
all areas, exclusive glass bathrooms and some very interesting service initiatives that Schreiber is keeping "under wraps".
