Air Astana has confirmed plans to launch direct flights
between Almaty and Frankfurt, Germany starting on 2 October 2020.
The Kazakh airline will initially operate the
route with two flights per week, increasing the frequency to thrice weekly from 26 October on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays.
Air Astana will operate the flights with Airbus
A321LR aircraft.
An early morning arrival in Frankfurt
provides convenient connections across European and North American
destinations operated by codeshare partner Lufthansa from the same
Terminal 1.
The new service from Almaty follows the resumption
of services from Nur-Sultan (the capital city formerly known as
Astana) to Frankfurt in August and is in
addition to the flight operated from Uralsk to Frankfurt, bringing
the total number of flights from Kazakhstan to Germany’s
commercial centre to eight per week.
Economy class fares from Almaty to Frankfurt to
start at USD481 and business class at USD2,225, inclusive of
governmental taxes, airport fees and charges.
Air Astana's Airbus A321LR is configured with 150
seats in economy class and 16 in
business class. The A321LR's business class cabin has Thompson Vantage
lie-flat seats that extend to 78 inches and feature 16-inch personalised IFE screens. Economy seats, designed by Recaro, offer
a 33-inch seat pitch, 18-inch width, fitted with
10-inch IFE seat back screens.
