Yangon International Airport (RGN), the main gateway to
the beautiful country of Myanmar, has introduced SITA’s Airport
Management solution to boost operational efficiency and passenger
handling capability.
At the heart of the system is an Airport
Operational Control Centre (AOCC), which enables the airport and
its stakeholders - including airlines and ground handlers - to
collaborate around the same real-time information and make
fully-informed decisions on resources.
The AOCC solution embraces a combination of
platform services, applications and professional services
including Airport Management System, Airport Master Systems
Integration, Airport System Pulse and Airport Hub, which all
combine to help Yangon International Airport create operational
models and standard operating procedures.
“Yangon Airport sets the benchmark among
high-performance airports in the constant pursuit of excellence in
infrastructure, organization, and effective operational
management, with the objectives of providing safe, secure and
efficient daily operations while offering a premium passenger
experience. The AOCC deployment has enabled us to achieve our
transformation goals, and we recognize SITA as a key player and
partner in that process,” said Jose Angeja, Yangon Aerodrome Company
Limited’s Chief Operating Officer.
Thirty-three international airlines operate out of
RGN, serving 37 destinations, and five domestic airlines serve 29
destinations across Myanmar.
The airport handled more than six
million passengers in 2018 and that number is expected to have
have increased by 6% in 2019.
