In a nod to the history of the French aviation
industry, the 350th Airbus A350 will fly in the regal colours of
Air France.
The airline has named the aircraft 'Nice', in tribute
to the city on the French Riviera and gateway to the
Mediterranean.
Nice joins the A350s already delivered to the
company – Toulouse, Lyon and St. Denis de la Réunion.
By 2025, Air
France will take delivery of 38 Airbus A350s, the new jewel in its
long-haul fleet.
Air France's Airbus A350 will fly from
Paris-Charles de Gaulle to six long-haul destinations in the
summer season: Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Bamako (Mali),
Bangkok (Thailand) as well as Atlanta, Boston and Washington in
the USA.
The Bangkok flights will take place thrice
weekly with on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from Paris, while
the return flights from Bangkok are scheduled to depart on Tuesdays,
Thursday, and Sundays.
Air France's Airbus A350 has 324 seats, with 34 in
the Business Class, 24 in the Premium Economy and 266 in
Economy Class.
Every seat, regardless of class flown, features an
individual HD touch screen. Inflight WiFi is also available free
of charge to those who simply want to send and receive messages
during the flight. From there, a Surf pass costs between €3 and
€18 (6,000 Miles) and allows passengers to surf the internet,
consult and send emails. The Stream pass costs €30 (10,000 Miles)
for high-speed
internet access and, as the name suggests, is suitable for
streaming content.
