With so much confusion, misinformation and
different reactions to the 2019-nCoV outbreak, China Airlines has
established a dedicated 'Novel Coronavirus Service Information'
centre on its website.
The page, available in Chinese, English and
Japanese, provides travelers with the latest updates on flight
cancellations, ticketing and travel alerts.
Services provided in the online information centre include "Flight
Status", "Flight Cancellations", "Ticket Handling Guidelines",
"Flight messaging", "Immigration Information", "Ticket Refunds",
"Flight Delay/Cancellation Certificate", "Branch Office", and
"Pre-Paid Baggage and Chargeable Seat Refund".
Travelers who purchase
their tickets through the China Airlines website can raise a
request for a ticket refund online. However, if a ticket was purchased
through a travel agent then the passenger needs to contact the
original travel agent.
Flight schedules are
subject to frequent changes due to the outbreak. Travelers are
suggested to use the China Airlines website or download the mobile
app to check the latest updates. They can also register for the
"Flight Messaging" function to receive SMS reminders of the latest
flight changes.
