Adrian Messerli, a fifteen-year Four Seasons
veteran, has been appointed as Regional Vice President and General
Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, scheduled to open on 25
September 2020.
Swiss born and educated, the multi-lingual
Messerli has a Bachelor’s Degree in international Hospitality
Management from Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne following training as
a chef.
Having been recruited by Four Seasons in 2005,
Adrian has travelled the world, increasing his responsibilities in
assignments from the United States to the Caribbean and South
America, Europe, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean, where he
earned his first General Manager position at Four Seasons Resort
Seychelles before moving to Shanghai, China.
“Adrian Messerli is an exceptional hotelier with a
strong background in both food and beverage, and spa and wellness
- the ideal person to lead the team as we open our doors in Madrid
this month,” said Simon Casson, President, Hotel Operations -
Europe, Middle East and Africa. “This project has been years in
the making, and it’s been worth the wait as we soon unveil one of
the most beautiful hotels in our portfolio of historic European
hotels.”
The company’s first hotel in Spain opens following
a seven-year restoration of seven historic buildings in the heart
of the capital, debuting a new open-air rooftop restaurant by
celebrated Spanish Chef Dani Garcia, as well a
four-level spa retreat.
