Murray L. Aitken Joins Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast as General Manager

[31 Oct 2021] Murray L. Aitken has joined the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast as General Manager.

With 30 years of experience as a professional hotelier and restaurant operator, Murray has joined Hard Rock from Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, where he played an integral role in opening the company’s first-ever luxury urban property in Singapore’s vibrant Chinatown.

Murray’s career also includes running his own hospitality consulting and advisory company, as well as leadership roles with various luxury hotel groups around the world, including Raffles in Southeast Asia, Rosewood in Indonesia, and across the Caribbean at Kerzner’s legendary Palace of the Lost City, Kerzner’s Table Bay Hotel, the Orient Express’ famous Mount Nelson and additional properties across South Africa.

“Murray’s appointment comes at a significant period where the hospitality landscape is rapidly evolving in unprecedented ways,” said Dale Hipsh, Senior Vice President of Hard Rock Hotels. “His skill set and wealth of experience will be a tremendous benefit to the property in sustaining focus on the health and safety of our guests and leading the hotel into its second phase of operations.”

The Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is located in the state of Johor in Malaysia.
