InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a
management agreement with K.W. Group to bring both the Holiday Inn
and Holiday Inn Express brands to Phukets Kata Beach.
Scheduled
to open in 2022, the two hotels will be part of
The Beach Plaza Phuket, the largest mixed-use development in Kata
Beach, located just five minutes from the sea.
Holiday Inn Phuket Kata Beach will have 134 rooms
and offer guests a range of dining options and meeting
facilities as well as a swimming pool and gym.
The Holiday Inn Express
& Suites Phuket Kata Beach extends the offering to 135 rooms and also features the brands signature Great Room.
Serena Lim,
Vice President, Development for IHG, South East Asia & Korea,
said, Its fantastic to continue the expansion of our Holiday
Inn brand family in Thailand with the addition of these two new
properties, and especially to partner with K.W. Group who have
decades of hospitality experience in Phuket. We remain on
track to double the size of our mainstream estate across the
Kingdom in the next three to five years and the combined
strength of this partnership will ensure we deliver on our
brands promise and delight guests when the two hotels open in
2022.
Kata Beach has long been popular with
families, couples and independent travellers. The area is located
about
one hour from Phuket International Airport and 20 minutes from
Patong.
Karn Prachumpan, Director, K.W. Group, said, With more than
three decades of hospitality experience in Phuket we know what
travellers are looking for and we believe that Holiday Inn and
Holiday Inn Express are the right brands for this location and
guest profile. Given the diversity of travellers from across
Thailand and around the world who choose Phuket as their
holiday destination, these globally recognised brands will provide
a well-known brand experience for a range of travelling occasions and needs.
IHG has 19 hotels in the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brand
family in Thailand, with another 16 in the development pipeline
that are due to open within the next three to five years.
