After an absence of more than eight years, Qatar
Airways has resumed flights to Cebu, Philippines.
The airline,
which last operated flights to the second largest city in the
country in March 2012, will operate thrice weekly flights to Cebu
from today.
The resumption of flights to Cebu
will see the airline’s network in Philippines expand to 13
per week:
Manila (nine weekly flights) Clark (one
flight per week) Cebu (thrice weekly flights)
Cebu is not only an important economic
and trading hub, but also a very popular tourist destination
famous for its white sand beaches, crispy roasted pork belly
(lechon), mangoes, and world-class diving spots.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr.
Akbar Al Baker,
said, “We are delighted to be launching a new direct service to
Cebu, offering our passengers another gateway into Philippines.”
Qatar Airways’ cabin crew wear Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) and passengers are given a
complimentary protective kit and disposable face shields which
they must wear during the flight.
