Malaysia Airlines has expanded its
Economy Class flexible fare options to cover its entire network.
Previously limited to domestic, ASEAN and
South Asian destinations, passengers can now access the three
unique fare options (Lite, Basic, Flex), to all destinations
except Malaysia to Japan and Japan to Malaysia, Jeddah and Madinah.
Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer
Captain Izham Ismail said, “With the world slowly recovering from
the brunt of the COVID19 pandemic, and as our passengers begin to
travel again, Malaysia Airlines seeks to take them to the skies
without the burden of worry, with a truly hassle-free experience.
Putting their needs as priority, we took the time to listen and
gain invaluable insight to our passengers through extensive
feedback, and from there we redesigned, redefined and are proud to
introduce our enhanced fare family, providing our dear customers
with a comprehensive product that caters to their every need, no
matter the nature of their travel.”
All passengers
get to enjoy the privileges and services of flying Malaysia’s
premier full-service carrier across all fares, with cabin baggage
up to 7kg, complimentary snacks/meals and beverages as well as
access to the specially curated Malaysia Airlines
in-flight-entertainment system.
The Flex Fare includes
35kg of check-in baggage, flexibility of travelling
earlier on the day of travel should the opportunity be available,
easy to change the flight, priority check-in, boarding and baggage
privileges. The Neighbour Free Seat product is now available exclusively for
Flex Fare passengers on all flights at 50% off. After their flight,
Flex Fare passengers get a 10% discount on their next Economy
Flex purchase.
The Basic fare includes 20kg of free check-in baggage
and the opportunity to use Enrich Miles for upgrades etc.
The Lite fare is designed for day-trippers,
commuters, and business travellers who do not need to check-in
baggage.
For passengers travelling on Shuttle-Eligible
routes, namely the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore-Kuala Lumpur route, will
alternatively have three fare brands, which would be the Lite and
Basic fares, in addition to the Shuttle fare.
The Shuttle fare is
specially catered to seasoned and regular passengers who make
multiple trips on the route and desire more flexibility in their
travel plans. Passengers booked on this fare brand will receive
all benefits of the Flex brand fare and more, with a check-in
baggage of up to 35kg as well as priority check-in at dedicated
counters.
Passengers are reminded to check entry, transit
and exit requirements before they book their trip.
