China Airlines launched an online self-service
check-in tool on Monday.
Designed to reduce the amount of time that
travellers need to spend at the airport, customers can now
complete their check-in process through the airline’s official
website or official mobile app before arriving at the airport.
Airport kiosks have been temporarily
suspended in Taiwan to avoid repeated contact with travelers.
Passengers can check-in with their smart phone or
tablet from 48 hours before their scheduled departure to 80
minutes before the flight takes off. They can also select their
preferred seats at the same time.
Once passengers have the reservation code/ticket
number and the necessary travel documents such as passport and
visa in hand, they just fill out the details and the boarding pass
can be printed out in 5 minutes.
Passengers can also use the electronic
boarding pass function on the mobile app for extra convenience.
Passengers that have completed their online
check-in can present their boarding pass and passport at the China
Airlines check-in counter or at Taoyuan Airport MRT’s Taipei (A1)
In-Town Check-in counter. If there is no checked luggage, simply
go through immigration and be at the boarding gate 40 minutes
before the flight.
Travellers must wear face masks upon arrival at
the airport and will have their temperature taken before boarding.
