The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives will reopen on 5
December 2020.
The luxury resort, a 30-minute journey by seaplane
from Velana International Airport, is nestled between the Raa and
Baa Atolls. The resort can also be reached with a 20-minute
domestic flight to Dharavandhoo followed by a 35-minute speedboat
ride to the property.
The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives offers 115 overwater and beach villas,
a farm, variety of F&B options, a bar with what is believed to be
the largest disco ball
in the country, moonlight movie screenings with
cocktails on the beach, a Hollywood-style
pool, beach parties, and a lineup of festive Christmas and New
Year’s workshops, celebrations and culinary delights.
Travelers have been returning to Maldives in
steadily increasing numbers since mid-July due to its successful
handling of the COVID19 pandemic.
In August 2020, Maldives welcomed 7,628 visitor
arrivals, down 94.5% on the 139,338 arrivals in August 2019. In
September, 9,538 people visited the country, down 91.9% on the
117,619 arrivals in September 2019.
All visitors to Maldives must complete and
submit a Health Declaration Form online 24 hours prior to their
flight, and present a
negative PCR test issued within 96 hours prior to the departure
from their original destination. As The Standard is a “one island,
one resort” paradise – all guests are exempt from the 14-day
quarantine requirement.
The Maldivian government also recently
launched the “Maldives Border Miles Program”, rewarding visitors to the country with discounts, privileges and other
offers.
