Harun Dursun has joined the Mandarin Oriental
Bosphorus, Istanbul as General Manager.
Anticipated to open in Spring 2021, the Mandarin
Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul will be the groups second
hotel in Turkey.
Harun worked most recently as GM of the
Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum, a position he held since 1 May 2018.
Ersev
Demirz has taken over as GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum.
Before that, he worked for Hyatt in Turkey, the UK
and several other countries for 20 years.
He completed his masters (MSc) degree in
International Hospitality Management at the University of
Strathclyde, Glasgow in Scotland, graduating with distinction in
1997.
He was awarded an undergraduate diploma in Tourism
and Hotel Management from ukurova University in Mersin, Turkey,
three years earlier.
He is also Turkeys first official sommelier, and
is a founder member and former Vice President of the Turkish
Sommelier Association. A semi-finalist in three European sommelier
competitions, he has represented Turkey in two World Championships
for this select group of wine experts.
A 30-year hospitality veteran, Harun was
awarded Best General Manager in Turkey at the 2019 World Luxury
Hotel Awards.
A Turkish national, Harun speaks fluent English
and German.
