All travellers entering or leaving Singapore are
now required to pay for their own COVID19 tests, where applicable.
In addition, incoming travellers who are not
Singapore citizens or permanent residents are required to pay for
their stay at dedicated Stay-Home Notice (SHN) facilities, if
needed.
The cost of the COVID19 tests will be waived for
any Singapore citizens or permanent residents who had left
Singapore before 27 March and who return by 31 August 2020.
All returning travellers, including
Singapore citizens and permanent residents, who left Singapore on
or after 27 March 2020 will have to bear the costs of their stay
at dedicated SHN facilities where applicable, as well as the cost
of their COVID19 tests.
The new rules came into effect on 17 June 2020 at
23:59.
Singapore reported 257 new COVID19 cases on
Thursday. Most of the new cases are work permit holders residing
in foreign worker dormitories, one is a permanent resident and
three are work pass holders. The national total was 41,473 as of
12:00 on 18 June 2020.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community
has decreased, from an average of 8 cases per day in the previous week, to an average of 7 per day in the past week
(11 June to 17 June).
The number of unlinked cases in the
community has also decreased, from an average of 4 cases per day
last week, to an average of 3 per day in the past week (11 June to
17 June).
