ExecuJet Completes First 8C Inspection on Global Express Aircraft in Australia

ExecuJet MRO Services Australia has completed the first 120-Month (8C) heavy maintenance check performed in Australia on a Bombardier Global Express.

The 8C heavy maintenance check involves a large scope of work, including many structural inspections. To inspect the airframe and other structures, the interior cabin needs to be dismantled and removed. The external panels, to enclosed structural areas, also need to be removed.

In addition, the 8C check includes performing functional checks on all the operating systems, such as the flight controls, and overhauling the landing gear.

During the project ExecuJet also completed many recommended service bulletins and upgrades offered by Bombardier.

All the work was carried out at ExecuJet’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Sydney Airport.

“Our capabilities to perform the 10-year inspection have been built up over many years of performing heavy maintenance. ExecuJet MRO Services Australasia is a Bombardier Authorised Service Centre and we have made significant investments in Bombardier tooling and factory training our licensed engineers on the Global series of aircraft,” said Grant Ingall, Vice President Australasia. “In previous years, there was a tendency for operators to perform these checks in Europe and the US, but local operators do value our service ... they have confidence in our technical capabilities to deliver on-time and cost effectively.”

The Global Express aircraft which ExecuJet serviced is operated by Walker Air Services.
