Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific have received
approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to
increase flights between Hanoi and Saigon.
Under the revised schedule, Vietnam Airlines will
operate two return flights per day between the two cities, instead
of just the one that the airline had been operating previously.
Vietnam Airlines' flights between Danang and Hanoi,
as well as Saigon, will at one return service per day.
Jetstar Pacific will also increase its flight
frequency between Hanoi and Saigon to one return flight
per day, instead of the four return flights per week as before. The
flights will be operated under a codeshare agreement between the
two airlines.
Passengers who purchased tickets of Vietnam
Airlines (ticket numbers beginning with 738) travelling on
codeshare flights operated by Jetstar Pacific (flight VN4565,
VN4566) will receive free baggage allowance, in-flight meals, etc.,
similar to those of Vietnam Airlines.
Lotusmiles members will still be able to
accumulate miles, reward redemption, etc.
The two airlines conduct health screenings for
passengers at airports, require passengers to complete an online health declaration form
before embarkation, and arrange seats which are spaced apart
from one another as per the regulations of CAAV.
The flight crew
on all flights are equipped with complete medical protective gear
and passengers are required to wear face masks throughout the flight.
Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific also disinfect
the aircraft upon
landing in Hanoi, Danang, and Saigon. At the end of each day,
aircraft are sprayed with disinfectant once more, and the
disinfectant is left to sit overnight.
