Onyx Hospitality Signs First Shama Resort

(31 Oct 2021) Onyx Hospitality has signed a management agreement with Hainan Sunup Group, (Hainan Xinhua Group) to open the first-ever Shama resort.

Scheduled to open in February 2021, the Shama Yalong Bay Sanya is located in the coastal area of the Yalong Bay Tourist Resort District, just a short distance from the beach.

The resort will feature 285 guestrooms and suites all featuring fully-equipped kitchens, an all-day dining restaurant, flexible guest meeting and relaxation space, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

Zenghui Sun, Executive Vice President, Hainan Sunup Group Investment Co. Ltd., said, “Shama Yalong Bay Sanya will be an all-new resort-style apartment hotel. Based in Bangkok, Onyx Hospitality Group has an operating portfolio of over 50 hotels and a robust development pipeline of more than 20 new properties in markets such as China, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
