S Hotels & Resorts, the
flagship hospitality arm of Singha Estate PCL, will add six new and repositioned
properties to its portfolio in the next 12 months.
The company has ambitious growth plans. Today, its global portfolio
consists of 39 hotels totalling 4,647 rooms, by 2025 S Hotels &
Resorts expects to have 82 properties with 9,000 keys.
Growth will be driven by a mix of mergers,
acquisitions and hotel management agreements, focusing on the
roll-out of SAii and nabor hotels across Asia Pacific and the
Indian Ocean.
“2021 will be a pivotal year for S Hotels &
Resorts, as we accelerate the expansion of our lifestyle brands,”
said Dirk De Cuyper, Chief
Executive Officer, S Hotels & Resorts. “Extensive upgrades to our
resorts in Thailand have laid the foundations for our rebrandings,
and we are very excited to be introducing our original concepts to
stunning locations across Asia.”
The first SAii hotel opened in Maldives in 2019
and the company will open
two SAii resorts in Thailand - SAii Laguna Phuket and SAii
Phi Phi Island Village - in the first quarter of 2021.
S Hotels & Resorts will launch nabor, a new
'luxury-midscale' hotel brand the company says should be pronounced like
“neighbour”, in April 2021.
The first nabor hotel will be a rebranded property
located on Koh Samui in southern Thailand.
In total, S Hotels & Resorts
plans to open six nabor hotels and resorts in 2021, with other
potential destinations likely to include major Thai tourism centres and key leisure markets in Asia.
